Job Description: 

The research group of Professor Irene M. C. Lo at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, would like to invite applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow position in the research area of fate and transport of nanoparticles (especially nano zero-valent iron particles) in soil and groundwater. The candidate should have a strong research background in (1) the transport and transformation of pollutants and nanoparticles, (2) experimental batch and column study as well mathematical modeling, (3) risk assessment, and (4) operating analytical equipment such as ICP, FAA, GC/MS, SEM, XRD, TEM, Raman, XPS, FTIR etc. The ideal candidate is also expected to have proficient communication skills in both written and spoken English. Appointment will be made initially on a contract of 12-18 months, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary is 20,500 HKD/month or higher which will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
