A position is available for Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University. The individual will conduct research on electrodialysis desalination with ion-exchange membranes, including membrane development, characterization, and transport modeling. The successful applicant is expected to work independently on the project but may also contribute to other ongoing investigations in the lab. The appointment is for 1 year, and has potential for extension depending on performance. The position is anticipated to start in June 2017. The salary and benefits will be based on experience and are competitive.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, preferably chemical engineering or environmental engineering. Expertise in electrodialysis desalination, membrane fabrication, and membrane transport theory is desired. Other preferred qualifications include: proficiency in written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and interpersonal skill; and capability of working in a team environment and effectively interact with a broad range of colleagues, graduate and undergraduate students.
