The Environmental System Engineering Group in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) at Vancouver is seeking an outstanding individual for the position of a postdoctoral fellow. The fellow will undertake research employing interdisciplinary approaches to develop efficient, robust membrane distillation processes for resource harvesting from contaminated water sources. The candidate is expected to have received a PhD in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or in a related discipline, preferably with a background in membrane fabrication and testing, surface chemistry, and transport modeling.
The candidate should demonstrate a capacity for both independent and collaborative research. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong publication record. The initial appointment is 1 year with a possibility of an extension for another year subject to the availability of funds. The expected starting date is August 1st, 2017.
