The department of chemical engineering at McMaster University is seeking applications for a post-doctoral research associate to join a dynamic team of individuals working on developing innovative detection and treatment technologies in the field of industrial wastewater treatment. This position is part of an exciting collaboration with an industry partner whose close geographical proximity offers an excellent opportunity for conducting on-site field work at their facility.
Preferred candidates should have a PhD in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field (with a good record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations) and previous practical experience in micro-biological techniques (e.g. cell culturing). The required qualifications include hands-on experience conducting lab experiments, strong communication skills, and excellent problem solving skills. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of presentations, manuscripts, project reports, and grant proposals.
- Mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers
- Actively participating in the McMaster Water Network (a cross-Faculty research centre with a focus to connect water science, technology, and policy)
