The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University invites applications to fill a fulltime, tenured position of Chair. The position rank is Full Professor and preference will be given to candidates who possess an outstanding record of accomplishment. The chosen candidate is expected to pursue a vigorous, nationally visible, externally funded research program and to maintain a strong commitment to teaching at all levels. A Ph.D. in engineering or a closely related discipline with a significant academic research record in Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural, or Water Resources Engineering is required of all applicants. The successful candidate will have an interest in collaborative research that complements and augments existing expertise among the faculty in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and aligns with one or more of Clarkson’s interdisciplinary research centers (http://www.clarkson.edu). The average annual external research funding for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the last three years exceeded $5 million. The Department offers ABET accredited Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees.
