Department Overview
The Zachry Department of Civil Engineering is proud to be among the top civil engineering programs in the country, ranked 8th in undergraduate programs and 8th in graduate programs at public institutions. Texas A&M civil engineering graduates are highly recruited and widely regarded as among the most work-ready young engineers in the country. The department currently has 55 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 19 academic professional track faculty members. Our student population is comprised of 725 undergraduate students (sophomore to senior level) and close to 500 graduate students. Job Summary
The Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level with expertise in the broad category of aquatic chemistry.  Individuals are sought who have a strong background and interest in one or more of the following areas: environmental organic chemistry, photochemistry, novel analytical chemistry, or molecular simulations as these relate to problems and processes of aquatic environmental chemistry in the built environment, urban watersheds, and natural systems.  Applicants that are capable of contributing to or leading interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary teams will be favorably considered.  Furthermore, we are particularly interested in individuals whose activities will expand the departments’ research portfolio with new federal and industrial funding sources and partnerships.

Individuals applying at the assistant professor rank must have a record of publishing in quality refereed journals and must demonstrate the potential development of their research interests. At the associate professor rank, applicants must have an established research portfolio that includes an escalating publication record and significant funding as well as evidence of teaching excellence. Individuals applying at the rank of professor are expected to be national and international leaders in research, with scholarly reputations as well as engaged in significant professional service and have a record of teaching excellence.

The successful applicant will be required to teach, advise and mentor graduate students, develop an independent, externally funded research program, and serve the profession. Required Education and Experience
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in civil or environmental engineering, or a closely related science or engineering discipline.
