Position

West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s department of Health is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Health with expertise and experience in Epidemiology and/or Biostatistics to join our undergraduate public health/health promotion program and CEPH accredited Master of Public Health (MPH) program. This 9-month tenure-track position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The starting date will be August, 2018.

Responsibilities

Ability to teach graduate Research Methods, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics, and undergraduate Research Methods, Population Health, Chronic and Communicable Diseases and other undergraduate public health courses, as needed.

Expectations of the position

Teach graduate Research Methods, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics, and undergraduate Research Methods, Population Health, Chronic and Communicable Disease courses through distance education and face-to-face format with the possibility of teaching at a branch campus.  Teach other undergraduate public health courses, as needed. Engage in peer-reviewed scholarship that leads to publications and presentations. Advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students pertaining to academic curricula and professional careers. Provide service to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health/Public Health or related field. ABD (all but dissertation) in the disciplines identified at time of application will be considered with the expectation that all requirements for the doctoral degree will be completed by employment start date. An MPH or an MS in Biostatistics, Epidemiology or health related field is required. Applicants must successfully complete the interview process, teaching demonstration, and research presentation to be considered as a finalist. Three professional reference letters are to be provided with the application.  A commitment to learn online teaching software and teaching styles and deliver instruction via distance education to graduate and undergraduate students are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience teaching graduate and/or undergraduate college-level public health courses in person and online preferred.
