Job Description: 

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the group of Prof. April Gu at the Cornell University. The postdoctoral associate will investigate combining nitrite-shunt/anammox processes with EBPR process for simultaneous and sustainable nitrogen and phosphorus removal or, the role of polyphosphate accumulating organisms in phosphorus cycling. This research will use advanced analytical techniques such as Raman microspectroscopy, flow cytometry, and metagenomics analysis. Applicants should have a doctorate in environmental engineering, environmental biotechnology, environmental microbiology, analytical chemistry or a related field of study.  Experiences and expertise with Raman microspectroscopy, molecular biology and microbial ecology will be preferred. The candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills.
