Job Description: 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in the area of water chemistry, water treatment, and environmental nanotechnology. The researcher will conduct research on interdisciplinary topics such as innovative water treatment processes including the use of nanotechnology, low impact development and water quality monitoring, and physiochemical interactions of contaminants to the built environment.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. In addition, a strong record in experimental methods and lab techniques is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a proven publication record in leading peer-reviewed journals. Experience with nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, ICP-OES, ICP-MS and other analytical instrumentation is an advantage.

The successful applicant is expected to work independently on projects, help mentor current undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to ongoing investigations in the lab, as well as ongoing collaboration with scientists from the Physics Department.
