The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) invites applications for two open-rank faculty positions, with one in Water Quality Engineering and Technology, and the other in Air Quality and Climate, beginning the 2018/19 academic year.
We are seeking highly motivated teachers and interdisciplinary researchers with demonstrated expertise in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis in water quality and air quality research, respectively. Junior candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Senior candidates must have a demonstrated record of success in one of the appropriate fields. All candidates must have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or closely related) and be strongly committed to both undergraduate and graduate teaching.
The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering enrolls approximately 450 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The 22 tenure-track faculty include one NAE member, nine NSF/DOE/DOD early career awardees, and multiple elected fellows in professional societies. This productive and collaborative faculty led $12 million of active research projects in 2016-17. Opportunities for collaboration exist through multiple college-level and campus-wide initiatives, including the Center for Agriculture and Food Enterprise (CAFÉ), the Water Resource Center (WRC), the School of Medicine (SOM), the School of Public Policy (SPP), the Winston Chung Global Energy Center (WCGEC), and the College of Engineering’s Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT).
