A PhD position is immediately available at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida International University (FIU). This is a fully funded (tuition, stipend, and health benefits) position starting in Fall 2023 or Spring 2024. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Ali Ebrahimian in a multidisciplinary group focusing on hydrologic and water quality processes in climate-resilient green infrastructure systems in urban and coastal areas. The projects involve field and laboratory work, modeling, and data analytics.
General requirements: A master’s degree with thesis in civil/environmental engineering or closely related fields; professional writing and presentation skills.
Specific requirements: Background in process-based hydrologic/water quality modeling, GIS, and programming.
Desired (not required) qualifications: experience in machine learning/data sciences.
