The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University at College Station is seeking two Ph.D. students to join Dr. Chu’s biotechnology laboratory starting Summer or Fall 2022. The projects will focus on biodegradation/degradation of PFAS and emerging contaminants, or production of biofuel and/or valued products.
The ideal candidate must have a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering or environmental microbiology (or related field) with specific expertise in laboratory methods for microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, or bioinformatics/modeling. Successful applicants will also demonstrate excellent writing and oral communication skill, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
