The Lin Aerosol Lab in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU) has 1-2 Graduate Research Assistant openings starting in Spring and/or Fall 2023. The research focus of the Lin Aerosol Lab includes (1) the emission, transport, and decay of bioaerosols, e.g., airborne pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes; and (2) the lung deposition and inhalation risks of particulate matter. The successful candidates will work closely with the PI on projects that meet the mutual interests of the PI and the students. More information can be found at https://ksnlin.wixsite.com/kaisenlin.
The ideal candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field. Prior research experience in air quality, environmental microbiology, and environmental health is desired. Motivated students with interests in understanding the fate and transport of bioaerosol in the environment and solving health-related air quality issues are encouraged to apply. Admitted applicants will receive full-tuition support, stipend, and benefits.
Interested students should contact Dr. Kaisen Lin at firstname.lastname@example.org with “Aerosol Lab PhD applicants” in the subject line. Please include your CV, transcripts, and a brief statement of research experience and interests in the email.
