Job Description: 

The Center for Resiliency at Lamar University is looking for engineering doctoral students to work on many upcoming projects and initiatives. Topics include but are not limited to: 

The science of resilience, flooding impacts on transportation systems and other infrastructure, green stormwater infrastructure, environmental life cycle assessment, land subsidence, IoT, coastal processes and storm protection, nonpoint source pollution, historical storm data analysis, and flooding decision-making processes. Self-motivated candidates with Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field are particularly encouraged to apply

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Self-motivation and a high level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner are required
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills are required
  • Strong writing/verbal communication skills are preferred
