Multiple PhD and Master level Research Assistantships in Environmental Engineering area are available at Dr. Zhao’s group at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T). The multidisciplinary research program is focused on addressing challenges in water and environmental sustainability faced by industries and in global community. Specific topics include, but not limit to:
1. Fate and transport, and remediation of emerging contaminants, including PFAS.
2. Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Environmental Remediation.
3. Nitrogen cycling and Water-Energy Nexus.

Ideal candidates should have a degree in disciplines including but not limited to: civil engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, chemistry, biology, agricultural engineering, etc. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team are required.
