Job Description

A postdoctoral associate position is available in Dr. Yang Deng’s Group (www.montclair.edu/~dengy) at Montclair State University (New Jersey) for a federally funded project. This research targets innovative physicochemical technologies for addressing PFAS pollution in water in a cost and energy efficient manner.  

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related fields. Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment are required. Desired qualifications include:

  1. the lab skills to identify and quantify different PFAS in water;
  2. demonstrated knowledge and expertise in physical and chemical treatment processes (adsorption and chemical redox processes are preferred);
  3. experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Initial appointment will be one year. Employment extension relies on performance and funding availability. Review will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
