Job Description

The Lin group at Vanderbilt University is looking for one (or possibly two) postdoctoral research associate to work on separation processes for water treatment and desalination. The potential candidate can choose to work on one or multiple topics related to electrochemical desalination, selective separation, and brine management. Interested candidates are encouraged to learn more about the research of our group via our publications:(https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=CZlbv0YAAAAJ&hl=en)

We place more emphasis on the overall strength (e.g., motivation, creativity, critical thinking, and demonstrated excellence) of the candidate instead of specific technical skills. However, candidates with experience in the areas of electrochemistry, microfluidics, membrane fabrication, and fundamental process modeling will be given preferential consideration.

The successful candidate is expected to perform experiments and/or modeling, prepare manuscripts, supervise PhD students, and possibly write research proposals. The ability to communicate effectively is important.

The position will come with a competitive compensation with benefits. The position is available now and until it is filled. The initial appointment is for one year with a high likelihood of extension depending on performance and funding availability.

Candidates can email Prof. Shihong Lin (shihong.lin@vanderbilt.edu) a single PDF application file comprising a cover letter, a CV, contact information for two referees, and up to two representative recent publications (optional).

Vanderbilt University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, people with disabilities and protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
