A fully-funded PhD position is available with Dr. Kevin Orner (https://kevinorner.faculty.wvu.edu/) at West Virginia University in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The student will work on a $1 million dollar project funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on “Sustainable Nutrient Removal Opportunities for Small Communities with Lagoon Wastewater Systems.” We seek a highly motivated student for a project that involves GIS, water quality analysis, life cycle assessment, and life cycle cost analysis.

The successful applicant will have a BS or MS degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering (or equivalent), have an excellent academic record, and work well in a collaborative research environment. The successful applicant will have excellent scientific writing skills and the ability to organize and analyze data and clearly disseminate your findings. Preferred qualifications include previous experience in GIS, life cycle assessment, and life cycle cost analysis.
