Sustainability/Resiliency Engineering Faculty Position:
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVE) at Oklahoma State University is pleased to invite applications for one (1) tenure-track faculty position in sustainability/resiliency engineering. Candidates must demonstrate potential for developing a strong externally funded research program with a focus in one or more of the following areas: adaptive and resilient infrastructure, environmental sustainability, resource recovery and/or reuse (the circular economy), climate and/or disaster resiliency, sustainable development, and humanitarian engineering. Candidates will be considered from any/all subdisciplines of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Preferred candidates will be able to successfully teach at the undergraduate level in one or more of the following areas: water resources engineering, geotechnical engineering, or construction engineering. Candidates will teach graduate courses in the areas of their technical expertise. The School is especially interested in candidates that can collaborate strategically with current expertise within the department, college, and state. A Ph.D. and undergraduate degree in, or closely related to, Civil and Environmental Engineering is required. It is expected that candidates can become licensed as a Professional Engineer within 6 years of appointment.
Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The School currently has 13 faculty members, 241 undergraduate students, and 58 graduate students. The School is a unique blend of teaching and research excellence. Research expenditures were $3 million in 2019 or approximately $200,000 per faculty member. The OSU Civil Engineering program has undergone a major expansion through the construction of new offices and classrooms as well as the new Endeavor Lab. The Endeavor Lab is a 72,000 sf interdisciplinary undergraduate laboratory opened in the fall semester of 2018.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. and undergraduate degree in, or closely related to, Civil Engineering is required.
