Job Description

The environmental biotechnology research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has a fully-funded Ph.D. position available starting in Spring 2023. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Wang on projects related to municipal wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and contaminant removal.

Successful candidates should have a B.S. and M.S. degree in environmental science and engineering, or a related field. Previous research experience in environmental engineering, environmental chemistry, and environmental microbiology is preferred. Tentative research projects involve advanced knowledge and skills in process engineering, mathematical modeling, molecular microbiology, and analytical chemistry. The selected candidate will receive competitive monthly stipend along with full tuition waiver and self life insurance.
