Post Doctoral Associate in Life Cycle Assessment
Overview:
The Department of Environmental Sciences at Rutgers University is seeking one post doctoral associate to work in the area of life cycle assessment of managing waste, recyclables and organics.
The position involves the life cycle assessment of a county waste management system. The candidate will develop a life cycle assessment model and assist in inventory data collection, data quality and uncertainty analysis and robust interpretation of results. The candidate will take responsibility for an externally funded research project and serve as the key contact for external partners. The position has a duration of 1 year with a possible extension based on additional funding.
Requirements:
The position has a minimum requirement of a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, a related engineering discipline, environmental sciences or a related natural sciences discipline. Candidates should have experience in creating and running life cycle assessment and life cycle costing models.
Desired skills:
A working knowledge of python is necessary. Background in life cycle assessments of waste management systems, waste technologies, and circular economy solutions such as recovery, recycling and utilization is strongly preferred. Prior work with the Solid Waste Optimization Lifecycle Framework (SWOLF) and Brightway is also desired.
