Job Description

The University of Missouri invites applications for two fully funded PhD scholarships (tuition, insurance, and stipend) and a postdoc researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. 1. Turbulence transport in rivers (MS/PhD position)
This research focuses on the turbulence in Missouri River and its impact on ecosystem and fishery management. The student is expected to conduct laboratory experiment (using laser and imaging systems), field observations, and computational hydraulics to study turbulence and the transport of fish eggs in a large river.

2. Particle transport in water and air (PhD position)
The second student candidate will be able to explore several different areas. The candidate is expected to use laboratory imaging techniques and OpenFOAM to study various particle flows. The applications include fecal particle deposition relevant to eco-epidemiology and seed dispersal in wind.
