POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to start immediately

Job Description
The prospective candidate will be working on monitoring study in the Lake Maurepas ecosystem, focusing on chemical contaminants, the abiotic and biotic components in the Lake and the surrounding region. These contaminant monitoring programs have been tasked with understanding the fate and transport of possible toxic chemicals in the environment. We will examine the impacts of dredging in Lake Maurepas. This study is being conducted in the context of the Air Products Carbon Sequestration/Exoduas seismic exploration project in Lake Maurepas. The postdoctoral researcher will focus on water and sediment sampling, and be responsible for data collection, data analysis, report/manuscript writing, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Required Qualifications:
• The PDF must hold a PhD in engineering (chemical, environmental or similar) or science (chemistry, environmental or similar).
• Expertise in pollutant/contaminant monitoring are required.
• Expertise in environmental data analysis and coding are required.
• Having high quality publications.
• Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in meetings to deliver and report on project progress.
• Strong leadership, management skills, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary research lab.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise in non-targeted analysis (NTA) on waters, suspended sediments, and organisms is desired.
• Expertise in GC-HRT+ 4D system, Xevo G3 QTof System, and Mercury/elemental Analyzer is desired.
