Job Description

The Civil and Architectural Engineering (CAE) Department at Tennessee State University (TSU) is seeking a full-time postdoctoral associate with expertise and interest in environmental engineering. All research interest areas are encouraged to apply. Examples of diverse research areas include biofilm use for the treatment of microplastics in surface water, sustainable building materials from waste, and modeling of contaminant biodegradation in karst formations. The successful candidate will work with CAE faculty research areas for Department of Energy-funded research and have opportunities to work with collaborators at other institutions and other team members. Additionally, the successful candidate will help manage the environmental laboratory and will have experience with LC/MC analytical tools in the laboratory.

Minimum Requirements:
Recent Ph.D. in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, agricultural engineering, biological engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience in overseeing laboratory operations.
Experience in managing undergraduate and/or graduate student researchers.
Experience with solid waste management, wastewater treatment, and environmental resource recovery.
Experience with the operation and maintenance of biological wastewater treatment systems.
