Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University seeks 1-2 PhD students in the areas of the environmental engineering and sustainable agriculture, starting fall 2023 and spring 2024. The successful candidate will join the dynamic team at the Utah Water Research Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Yiming Su. The student will have the opportunity to work on research projects related to: 1) the fate and transport of nano-agents in soil and plants and 2) nano functional materials and electrochemical process development for environmental applications, such as PPCPs & PFAS degradation, and resource recovery.

The positions are available immediately. Applicants are sought with background in materials science, environmental science, plant science, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or other related fields. Candidates with research experience in innovative nanomaterial development, environmental implication of nanoparticles, interactions between plants and nanomaterials are especially encouraged to apply.
