Post-doc Opportunity in Membrane Environmental Engineering Lab

Position Overview

The Department of Marine Environmental Engineering at Gyeongsang National University (Tongyoung Campus) invites applications for a post-doc starting in September 2023. We seek a highly driven and outstanding postdoc interested in membrane-based environmental engineering research. Gyeongsang National University (GNU) is a leading national institution in Korea.

As a full-time post-doc, you will participate in a government-funded research project with a monthly salary of 3,500,000 KRW (including tax and public health insurance). 

 

Research Scope:

The selected Postdoc will be researching electrochemical systems and nanomaterial synthesis. This involves:

1) Development of electro-spun membranes,

2) 2D nanomaterial synthesis,

3) Development of high-performance Electrodes  

4) Working on a microbial electrolysis cell and battery deionization

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

- A deep understanding of environmental engineering, membrane processes, chemical engineering, polymer science, or materials science.

- Familiarity with mathematical modeling.

- Proficient English communication skills, both in writing and speaking.

- Practical experimental skills.

- Adeptness to work independently and as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail
