Prof. Dwarak Ravikumar is recruiting a PhD student for his lab at Arizona State University (ASU) in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE which is the home for civil, environmental and sustainable engineers).
It is a fully funded position with benefits (tuition, graduate assistantship and health insurance).
The Phd student's research will focus on circular economy for Photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The student's research will explore and address the broader systems challenges on transitioning to a circular economy for PV. In addition to experimental research, the student will be expected to evaluate the broader environmental, economic and social impacts and conduct a significant amount of analysis and modeling (e.g., using life cycle assessment)
Required qualifications
A Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any stream) or a related science stream.
Programming in Python/R/Matlab or any equivalent language
A strong quantitative/engineering background
