The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Water Resources Research Center at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher in environmental biotechnology. The researcher will work on a U.S. Department of Energy funded projects on nitrous oxide recovery from wastewater for decarbonization of water resource recovery facilities. Both bench-scale and pilot-scale study will be conducted. The starting date will be January 2024.
Applicants need to have or are graduating soon with a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering or related fields. Ideal candidates are expected to have expertise in environmental microbiology, bioreactor operation, water quality analysis, and/or life cycle analysis.
The review process will commence immediately until the position is filled. The initial contract is one year and renewable depending on performance up to three years.
