Metal-sulfur Geochemistry

The NanoGeoBio Laboratory in the School of Molecular Sciences, Arizona State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to pursue projects on metal sulfide systems, including their formation mechanisms, crystal structure, and potential electron transfer between different metal species. While candidates with solid background in geochemistry, mineralogy, or geomicrobiology are most desirable, those with background in materials science and inorganic chemistry are also highly relevant.

Initial appointment will be made for a fiscal year (12-month), full-time, renewal for up to three years. The position is currently open, and will remain open until filled.

The hired candidate is expected to adhere to laboratory culture and safety, conduct research and experiments independently, communicate scientific findings clearly (presentations, protocol, and manuscripts), and contribute to the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mineralogy, geochemistry, materials science, chemistry or related fields.
Candidates with multidisciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Candidates with prior experience with any of the following techniques, e.g., TEM, synchrotron XAS, PDF, or voltammetry are preferred.
