The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at the University at Buffalo invites candidates to apply for a non-tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Teaching, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: environmental engineering, water resources engineering, and/or sustainability. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for teaching, can operate effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty members, and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential within a professional culture that values equity, diversity, and inclusion.
In addition to teaching and developing courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, candidates with appropriate expertise may also work with other faculty to develop projects and participate in the senior capstone design courses, and/or develop online graduate courses. Candidates are also expected to participate in the departmental activities, which include but is not limited to student advisement at the undergraduate and graduate level; management of industry internships; coordination of laboratory and instrumentation upgrades; participation in initiatives that promote student excellence and diversity; and participating in external grant proposals related to pedagogical and curricular innovation.
