We invite applications for a postdoc position to develop a mathematical model describing the microorganism transport in unsaturated soils. The final goal is to predict the impact of agricultural practices on groundwater quality. The work is part of a wider Italian project named PREDICTIVE DYNAMICS OF MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMINATION OF GROUNDWATER IN THE EARTH CRITICAL ZONE AND IMPACT ON HUMAN HEALTH (DY.MI.CR.ON) where an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers are involved.
Applicants should have a PhD and a strong background in either applied mathematics, geoscience, fluid dynamics, environmental science and engineering, or a related field. Very good oral and written communication skills in English are necessary, and the knowledge of the Italian language is not required but could be a plus.
