EPFL/EAWAG Joint Postdoc Position in Microbial Physiology and Ecology, Resource Recovery, and Biotechnology

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Institute of Environmental Engineering at EPFL (the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne). The selected candidate will engage in cutting-edge research bridging applied environmental microbiology with environmental engineering. The research will focus broadly on microbial ecology and physiology in systems such as anaerobic digestion or aerobic granular sludge but we offer flexibility in the choice of specific research topics. The candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and participate in mentoring and collaborating with PhD students.

 

The position will be held in the Microbial Physiology and Resource Biorecovery laboratory (MICROBE) led by Dr. Wenyu Gu at EPFL. The candidate will be co-advised by the Microbial Systems Ecology group that is located at Eawag in Dübendorf and also affiliated with EPFL and ETH Zurich, and led by Dr. Olga Schubert and Dr. Martin Ackermann

 

EPFL is a public research university specializing in engineering and natural sciences. Eawag is the Swiss Water Research Institute and an internationally networked institution. Both EPFL and Eawag are part of the ETH Domain.

 

Your Profile

A PhD degree in environmental engineering, microbiology, chemical engineering or a related field with evidence of research success in the form of peer-reviewed publications are required.
