Ph.D. Positions Available

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University at College Station is seeking two Ph.D. students to join Dr. Chu’s biotechnology laboratory starting Spring 2024 and Fall 2024. The projects will focus on biodegradation/degradation of PFAS and emerging contaminants, or production of biofuel and/or valued products.

The ideal candidate must have a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering or environmental microbiology (or related field) with specific expertise in laboratory methods for microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, or bioinformatics or modeling. Successful applicants will also demonstrate excellent writing and oral communication skill, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
