The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) is actively seeking applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a primary emphasis on Sustainability. The successful candidate will lead a research program aligned with the department’s expanding strengths in Energy, Health, and Sustainability. The appointed candidate will collaborate with faculty in these interdisciplinary fields and gain access to cutting-edge facilities and resources.
The successful applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research relevant to Sustainability, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, and actively participate in service activities. Examples of research specializations may include, but are not limited to, life cycle assessment; techno-economic analysis; artificial intelligence; optimization of systems; machine learning and data-driven modeling; renewable energy and energy conversion applications; and equitable transitions in renewable energy.
The department is seeking to hire at the Assistant Professor level; however, the search committee will consider hiring at the Associate Professor level for individuals with more than 5 years of experience and an established track record. This is a full-time, nine-month appointment with a focus on establishing and sustaining a globally recognized research program supported by external funding.
