Postdoc in anaerobic digestion of organic wastes
One postdoc research associate position is available in Dr. Yun’s group (Waste-to-Energy Lab.) in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Chungbuk National University (CBNU), Republic of Korea.
The Postdoc will work in the field of anaerobic digestion, and development of technologies for reduction of ammonia emission and biological nitrogen removal. Knowledge of the biological process of aerobic/anaerobic treatment of organic wastes is mandatory.
Responsibilities and tasks
The candidate is responsible for:
Conducting experiments for biogas production from organic wastes
Setting up and maintaining equipment including bioreactors, and carrying out efficient protocols and standard operating procedures
Writing research papers
Qualifications
The candidate is expected to have:
A PhD degree on anaerobic digestion process.
Strong knowledge of the microbiology and biochemistry of the anaerobic digestion process.
Previous experience in conducting microbiological techniques (i.e. next generation sequencing).
Proficient communication skills in both written and spoken English
Salary and terms of employment
Monthly salary KW 3,000,000 (~USD 2,300) or higher which will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences. We will also provide the extra salary depending on the performances.
The appointment is for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
