The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in the fate of micropollutants in wastewater systems to contribute to an NSERC-funded project that investigates the fate of PFAS in sludge handling systems. Research will involve collecting samples from full-scale wastewater treatment plants for the purpose of estimating PFAS mass flows in all wastewater and sludge handling processes. In addition, the research will develop and apply a method for quantifying total organic fluorine (TOF) in sludge handling systems. We expect the duration of this appointment to be approximately 1 year with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2024. Although not required, experience analyzing PFAS and other trace contaminants is preferred. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Wayne Parker (wjparker@uwaterloo.ca) and Dr. Anh Pham (anh.pham@uwaterloo.ca).
