The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in biological processes in waste treatment systems to contribute to a Mitacs-funded project that investigates a novel anaerobic digestion technology (IntensiCarb). Research will involve design and carrying out of experiments, data analysis and development/application of process modeling. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to lead and coordinate research tasks and assist with project reporting requirements. We expect the duration of this appointment to be approximately 1 year with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2024. Although not required, experience with advanced biological process characterization techniques (i.e. genomic techniques) and an awareness of common wastewater treatment and sludge handling technologies would be an asset. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Wayne Parker (wjparker@uwaterloo.ca).
