The environmental chemistry research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has a fully-funded Ph.D. position available starting in Fall 2024 of Spring 2025.
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Juhee Kim on projects related to the fate of emerging contaminants, wastewater treatment, and soil remediation. Successful candidates should have a B.S. and/or M.S. degree in environmental science and engineering, or a related field. Previous research experience in environmental engineering and environmental chemistry is preferred. The successful applicants are expected to have experience in fundamental and applied research related to using physical, chemical, and biological processes to address remediation of emerging contaminants. Experience with LC-MS-MS, LC, IC, GC, and other routine analytical instrumentation is preferred. Applicants need to meet the graduate admission requirements, including TOEFL scores.
