Job Description

The Emerging Contaminants Research Laboratory (ECRL) in the John A. Reif, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking a motivated MS or PhD student to work under the guidance of Dr. Arjun Venkatesan starting Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. The potential candidate will work on the following projects:

(i) Fate & transport of emerging contaminants like PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, and pesticides.
(ii) Wastewater surveillance of human metabolites of environmental contaminants.

The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental (analytical) chemistry, environmental/chemical engineering, or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience with emerging contaminants and/or the use of analytical instruments such as liquid/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
