Job Description

The Membrane Technology & Materials Science research group at the University of Wyoming is seeking three highly motivated MSc in Environmental Engineering candidates to join their team in Fall 2024. Candidates should hold a BS in civil/environmental engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, computational modeling, or an equivalent degree. A strong work ethic, ability to work independently and intellectual curiosity are all required! Familiarity and/or interest in membrane processes, material synthesis, analytical chemistry, and/or computational modelling. Good communication (written and oral) skills in English are required. The positions will work on research projects related to the following topics:

• Synthesis and performance characterization of proton exchange membranes made using novel carbon materials,
• Upscaling of carbon production from coal char feedstocks,
• Characterization of nano-carbon, polymeric composite membranes, and/or
• Physical modeling of electromagnetic fields.

Each position will be a fully funded Research Assistantship (RA) that comes with an annual stipend, health insurance, fringe benefits, and tuition and fees.
