Job Description

The School of Civil Engineering at The University of Sydney (QS #18) offers a new opportunity for a fully funded Ph.D. student position starting in Late 2024/Early 2025. The student will work with Dr Jiaying Li on the project – An innovative approach for understanding public health and wellbeing through wastewater surveillance, with key focuses on Wastewater Epidemiology, Disease Surveillance, Chemical Exposure, Pathogenic Viruses.

Candidates with a Bachelor and/or Master degree with educational background and research experience in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemistry, environmental microbiology, or other closely related fields are encouraged to apply. Students with laboratory experience in using LC-MS/MS, HPLC, qPCR/RT-qPCR, metagenomic sequencing and bioinformatics are highly encouraged.

Self-motivated candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team are expected.
