Job Description

The School of Civil Engineering at The University of Sydney (QS #18) offers a new opportunity for a fully funded Ph.D. student position starting in Late 2024/Early 2025. The student will work with Dr Jiaying Li on the project – Fate of contaminants of emerging concern in urban wastewater systems, with key focuses on Emerging Contaminants, Wastewater Treatment, Advanced Treatment, Kinetics Modelling, Monitoring and Sensor Technologies.

Candidates with a Bachelor and/or Master degree with educational background and research experience in environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental microbiology, or other closely related fields are encouraged to apply. Students with laboratory experience in reactor operation, LC-MS/MS, HPLC, qPCR/RT-qPCR, hydraulic modeling, and sensing technologies are highly encouraged.

Self-motivated candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team are expected.
