Job Description

The HE Environmental Chemistry Lab at Georgia Southern University has a fully funded Ph.D. student position in Spring 2025. The successful candidate will conduct research on the fate, transport, and transformation of emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS) in soil and water environments.
Required Qualifications:
An earned MS (preferred) or bachelor’s degree in environmental chemistry, environmental engineering, analytical chemistry, soil science, environmental science, or other closely related fields.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a team.
Basic knowledge on PFAS in the environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hand on experiences on the analyses of PFAS by LC-MS/MS are significantly preferable.
Basic knowledge or skills of ORIGIN, MATLAB, R, or Python software.
