The Niu Lab at the University of Cincinnati is interested in recruiting 1-2 graduate assistants (PhD or MS students) in the areas of emerging contaminants and photochemistry. Experiences with at least one of the following areas are desired: natural organic matter isolation and characterization, photochemistry, microplastics chemistry, and environmental transformation processes. Experimental expertise in at least of the following areas is desired: LC-MS/MS, fluorescent spectrophotometer, GCMS, laser spectroscopy.
Some other qualifications and responsibilities include:
- A BS degree in environmental sciences, chemistry, environmental engineering, chemical engineering or a related field.
- Excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral in English), detail oriented, and interpersonal skills.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other scientists to design, implement, analyze, and summarize innovative research.
The expected start time is expected in Spring 2025.
