Position Description:
Applications are solicited for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position (M.S. Level) in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) at the University of Florida (UF) under the supervision of Dr. Dengjun Wang starting from Spring 2025. I am looking for a highly motivated and creative student interested in working on nutrient (nitrogen and phosphorus) removal strategies in water. The GRA will work on a project funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to evaluate bioretention strategy for nitrogen and phosphorus removal in water.

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. or B.E. in the following disciplines: Environmental Sciences; Environmental Engineering; Water and Soil Sciences; Analytical Chemistry; Ecological Engineering; and Agricultural Engineering. Applicants whose native or first language is not English must obtain a TOEFL score of 80 iBT or IELTS score of 6.5 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge in water quality and experience in water quality analysis
• Analytical skills in nutrient analysis including sample digestion and concentration qualification by UV/vis spectrophotometer, etc.
• Statistical skills for data analysis
• Experience and willingness to work in various labs, involving field works
