Opportunity
The Environmental Chemistry Group at the Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) has several fully funded Ph.D. positions available starting in Spring 2025. Students will be granted their degree through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Available research positions are for a variety of projects on the transformation of organic contaminants in the environment, including (1) understanding the oxidation of alcohols in water treatment systems, and (2) identification of major disinfection byproduct precursors in fuels.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should have a B.S. and M.S. degree in environmental engineering, or a related field. Previous research experience in analytical chemistry and environmental chemistry is preferred. Applicants need to meet the graduate admission requirements, including GPA and language proficiency (if applicable). GRE and FE scores are optional.
