Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Water Resources Engineering. The postdoc researcher will work primarily with Dr. Lu Liu on an EPA-funded research project on accelerating water reuse in small communities. The main duties include conducting modeling and data analytics with a focus on water reuse research, assisting community-based research, and disseminating results. There will be opportunities to mentor undergraduate and graduate students and contributing to writing grant proposals. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be expected to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. The appointment will be for one year with no extension.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with hydrologic modeling and data analytics
• Demonstrated experience with project management
• Experience or strong interest in social science approaches
• Demonstrated experience in publishing peer-reviewed scientific papers in high quality journals
• Strong communication skills, demonstrated through written publications and invited presentations
• Experience or strong interest in communicating scientific information to the general public
