Job Description

The Department of Environmental Sciences at Rutgers-New Brunswick is seeking a postdoctoral associate to conduct research in the broad areas of aquatic chemistry and corrosion mechanisms in engineered water infrastructure. The postdoc will lead laboratory and field-based projects focusing on metals release from pipes and premise plumbing, the role of corrosion inhibitors on metal sequestration from potable water in various plumbing configurations, and exploring novel in-line corrosion control deployments for water systems in domestic (US) and international (Africa and Asia) settings. We invite applications from candidates with backgrounds in civil/environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental chemistry/science, or related disciplines.

The postdoc will be supervised by Dr. Siddhartha Roy and based in New Brunswick, NJ. This is a 12-month position at a salary, per union agreement, of $61,805, with the possibility of an extension for another year contingent on satisfactory performance. The start date is flexible and can be as early as February/March 2025.
