A postdoc position available at Chu biotechnology lab at TAMU
Dr. Chu’s biotechnology laboratory in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station (https://www.tamu.edu/index.html) invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position. The position is available immediately.
The successful applicant will be engaged in research on fate, transport, and removal and biodegradation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in different PFAS-impacted matrices (soils, biosolids, water, and plants). Additionally, the successful applicant will also have opportunities to participate with other exciting projects such as biofuel and bioproduct production, and biomining.
Candidates with previous laboratory experiences in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) biotransformation, molecular biology, synthetic biology, advanced chemical analysis (such as GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC), biosolid/sludge/biofilm, and bioinformatics are highly desirable.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering, microbiology, chemical engineering, or related fields. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skill, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is three-year position, but the initial appointment will be a one-year term with the possibility of renewal, depending on research progress and satisfactory of the performance. The salary is competitive and aligned with experience.
