Job Description

The Duan Lab, led by Prof. Yanghua Duan (www.yanghua-duan.com), is seeking motivated Ph.D. students to join the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU), starting in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

Our research focuses on developing electrochemical and membrane-based technologies to tackle pressing challenges in water, energy, and environmental health. We combine principles from environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, and materials science to study the fate of chemical species and design advanced treatment systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related fields.
  • Research experience in electrochemistry, membrane fabrication, catalytic material synthesis, or analytical chemistry is advantageous.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills.
